8:30am – 10:00am Event
Since 2017—with the advent of online gambling, sports betting, and now artificial intelligence—gambling problems in Pennsylvania have risen exponentially. And it’s very common for people with substance use (SUD) and mental health (MH) disorders to also have a gambling disorder (GD).
- 79% of ppl with GD in recovery have an alcohol use disorder
- 72% of ppl with GD in recovery have a mood disorder
- 46% of clients in SUD treatment meet criteria for a gambling disorder
We’re pleased to present local experts to speak on the prevalence of PA gambling problems; how gambling issues may impact social services clients, prevention initiatives being funded by the Commonwealth, and how counselors can earn a certificate of competency in treating gambling disorders.
This will be followed by an extended Q&A period about community attitudes and possible solutions for stemming the tide of our gambling epidemic. Please join us for this important conversation at our Lebanon County office! Experts include:
- Eric J. Webber, MA, CADC, CCS, CSAT/CMAT, CCPG, Senior Behavioral Health Therapist, Legal Professionals Program Coordinator, Caron Treatment Center
- Amy R. Hubbard | Drug and Alcohol Program Manager, Compulsive Problem Gambling Section
PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs | Bureau of County Program Oversight
